More January stitching

A few years ago one of my sisters and I brought `A Gardeners Journal` book with kit of fabric and threads. These ended up in our cupboards,so this year we thought we would start them as our SAL.  First block in January. My sister doesn`t have a blog. Here is my block finished.

Really pleased with the colours and the way my stitching is. Hope my sisters colours are just as nice.

This is progress on my Mystery Quilt from `The Country Yard` which I started last year.I`ve placed the blocks the way I think they will go. Nearing the end so should know layout soon. Have loved stitching with `Cottage Garden Threads` #801 Hyssop. Plus the fabrics just go so well.

Progress on `Margaret Cottam` is slow, as you can see I started 2011.This year I`ve stitched the tree and the mans boots. My friend Katrina helped me buy this through Anita.  Part 1 came early December which I imediately started, having to stop for my Christmas finishes. Part 2 arrived late December and part 3 (the final) came early this month. As I` m still working on part 1 the others are away in my wallunit waiting. As you can see I`ve stitched Maggy`s Key. Have only to put the loops on so can use symbals on this little needle cushion properly. I`ve enjoyed sitching and putting that together. It will go with my BBDs needle cushions when sampler finished. Will show progress as time goes on.

Recently we went to see our youngest daughter and our two delightful grandchildren. Here they are enjoying there time with Gampop, plus Stella the kitten is in on the act too. There was giggles over that. Stella was so funny. Hubby was so pleased he had thick soxs on.
Well must away or my stitching will not get done before the night time chores need doing.
Thanks for your visit and you enjoyed my blog.
Happy Stitching, Clare.

Hello to my stitching friends

Hello my stitching friends and fellow bloggers. It`s a lovely day today though the wind is picking up.
I`ve fininshed my `Lizzie Kate` stitchery that Kath gave me for one of my Christmas gifts. Now to decide to frame or a stand a lone.

I stitched with  suggested DMCs and linen that came with pattern and cute buttons.

I started my `Church Doll Sampler Roll` the 20th Jan for my `Friday Night Sew In` but have only had time to blog today. It`s a design by Beth Twist of `Heartstring Samplery`. I`m stitching on 32ct Platiumn with suggested WDWs:Straw (mine is quite golden in colour),Havana,Baked Apple,Moss and Teal Frost. I  intend to stitch this for my grand-daughter and give it to her with the doll when she`s older.
I was going to add a few more photos to this post but things are too slow so will do so on my next post soon.
Thankyou to the lovely comments on my stitching and hope you come again.
Till next time Happy Stitching, Clare.

A start in 2011 to be finished 2012

Hello everyone.

Thought I`d show my start on `My Town` from `Homespun` magazine. I started this block about April last year, just havent shown you. The others are in different stages of finishing. I`ve been getting the fabric from `Cottage Flair` as a block of the month. The fabrics come a few weeks after I get my magazine. Gives me time to prepare templates. I`m really wanting to get to it. See how I can catch up this month while waiting for the last of the fabric for border blocks and borders.

the block finished
this  is a closeup of my sewing machine showing the button.

Till next time

Happy New Year

2012 is here. Hello my stitching blogger friends. Hope this year brings blessing to everyone of you. I`m also hoping to get some finishes as well as new starts done. I recieved some lovely gifts at Christmas 2011.

My gift from `The Global Christmas Stitching Swap` is a lovely covered journal and two fat 1/4s. I`m thinking of using these for my own little stitching bag like I made  for Kaths birthday last month.

This is the lovely book my hubby gave me for Christmas. I`ve been looking and thinking what I`ve got in my cupboard to make this workbox house. Love the lining fabric but don`t know the name of it to try and get some.

See the lovely inside. Will take sometime for me to stitch and put together. Will keep you posted on how that goes. Plus all the accessories!
Well Happy Stitching ( I know I will be stitching) and thankyou for visiting. Till next time. Your blogging friend Clare.

The first Gift

The meaning of Christmas was the first gift, Jesus gave his life for us so we could live. What a gift of Grace that was for us.

Our Saviour born on Christmas Day. This nativity set was a gift to me some years back from a speacial friend.
Now a few of the gifts I gave:

This was my gift for my Global swap through  fionamarie.com. The tea towel was a gift for Kate @ Show and Tell.

These aangels I made some years ago and are part of my Christmas display in my home.

Saviours Day nearly here

Hi everyone. Hope you all have a Happy Christmas. I`ve been stitching and as a few people know posting. So pleased that my parcel for TCGS arrived in plenty of time in Australia.

This ones mine, wondering what I`ve got. Will find out in the morning. Thankyou so much my friend.

The other side which show her  grey cat, he`s really friendly.

The centre of this little stitching bag. It`s a Red Brolly design. I use it often to make for friends, must make myself one.

My hubby is a volunteer at our local firebrigde and every year we have our Christmas Party for the children. As our children are grown our grandchildren come. The children enjoy a ride in the fire engine. Our grand daughter loved it.

And of course Santa came. This our little grand-daughter not so sure about the man wearing  the red suit and white beard. Our grandson new how it worked from play group.

These I made for two non blogger friends.

Sorry can`t seem to turn photo! The cushions came from Nancy Halvorsens `Star Of Wonder` booklet and the ornaments from `Just Cross Stitch ` magazines.

Look where Puss has turned up now, under the Christmas tree. Hope next year to have my tree skirt finished. See how my progress goes on that.
Hubbys working on his canoe fibre glassing to water proof:

Here are two of my Christmas wall hangings and a Christmas quilt that gets a little quilting done on it at this time of the year. It was a mystery quilt for me a few years back. The wall hangings are out of two `Debbie Mumm` books.

Hope you all have a safe and Happy Christmas with family and friends. I`m going to make my Traffic Lights slice, Christmas mince pies and hopefully be ready to attend the 9pm candle light service at our Church.
Thankyou for visiting and hope you come back soon.
Happy Stitching,
