Happy Christmas and SSCS

Happy Christmas my friends.

Thankyou Chookyblue and her helper Janice for
sorting out this swap for us all.
Susan @ Thimblestitch sent me these lovely gifts.

Inside a Christmas box:
( I love having boxes and tins:) )
a lovely pincushion with delicate quilting,
a little bag to hold threads cut from stitching,
a cute holder with needles an thread inside,
two dove buttons and
a chocolate Christmas tree.
This is yet to be eaten!

This lovely doll from the 1st Homespun Magazine
by Wendy Briggs, the stocking from Just Cross Stitch Ornament magazine
and a nativity wall hanging are my gifts for Fiona
of peacefulthreads blogspot.

This was in our Church service handout.

The last few weeks have been packing up my sewing area.
This was so we could lay new carpet in our lounge.
A busy time with Christmas gifts to finish !!!
But we got there.

I have had the use of this space for at least 26 years.
So has been a sad time to see it go.

Hubby taking it apart.

The template of where my sewing area was.

New carpet down,so soft under foot.
It is cut pile showing tone on tone.
In the New Year the wallpaper will be done.
Then some portable units for a temporary
sewing area once Christmas tree is put away.

Well enjoy your Christmas.
I will post about my other gifts soon.
Hope you have time for some stitching,
Clare.

Santa`s Sleigh came by

Hello my friends.
Santa`s Sleigh came by today.

My parcel from my SSCS partner was delivered to me today.
I pray my parcel has reached its new home too!!

Two parcels, one for Christmas Day and the other
to open now with ornament for the tree.
Our tree isn`t up yet as the new lounge carpet is yet to be
put down.
So will put parcel where it`s safe for now.

Cute ribbon round the parcels.
Will use in a project at a later date.
Love the tiny stitches on this ornament.
A surprise a lovely kit.
`Festive Snippets`
by `The Birdhouse`.
So enjoy Natalie`s designs.

The back of the kit showing fabrics and threads.

What fun.
Happy Stitching,

Celebration and Holy Night Ornament.

Hello my friends,
This year our Church is Celebrating 150 years.
So two weekends ago we had a Celebration dinner Saturday night.
Then on the Sunday some of us came in costume
for the service.

These two photos I took from our
`News and Views`
newsletter.
After church most of us had our photo taken.

This is our Minister opening the service.

Over at the church hall there was some of the
booklets and photos but this organ was quite small.

As the label states it was transported to
out lying areas of the Parish.

We all had an enjoyable morning
as a Thanks Giving time with our Lord.

Going on the Sleigh

Hello my friends,
I`m on time for SSCS.

The parcels ready to go on the Sleigh.
A start on Christmas gifts.

This is the 2nd block of my $25 quilt with Delbrook.

The 3rd block.

This months was the 4th block.

I put them together in a four patch display.
1                     2

3                          4
I moved them around and liked this
set better.

I do have more BOMs on the go but with Christmas projects they are on hold!!
Well back to more stitching and finishing of Christmas gifts.
Happy Stitching,
Clare.

Last Weekend

Hello my friends.
I had my computer off line while we carpeted the end bedroom &hallway.
Hence no posting.
While that was happening we had
`Flamingo Hunt`
with our church youth group.
This year we had two Flamingo`s to hide.

Hubby had the plan.
So viewing spot set after he has duck taped them in place.

But before getting to the viewing spot there was a trip wire that set off a smoke alarm.
That let us know they had come so if we choose to they had to do a job for us.

A closeup of the gum tree bird.

The 2nd was taped in the walnut tree.

A closeup of number 2.

Team 1 arrived and the alarm scared one of the girls.
Then they looked around.
I told them if they where hot or cold. :)

The gum tree one was found 1st.
So a brave girl climbed up.

Breaking the branch she was able to release the Flamingo
throwing it down to her team mates.
Hubby wasn`t worried as we use this tree for wood anyway.

The girls wanted Max in with the fun.
We let them off from the chore as felt too  heavy for them.

About an hour later the 2nd team arrived.
Once they located their Flamingo
They climbed into the walnut while hubby had the hose on them.

Some of this team got wet.
But went away with their bird.

The chore was to lift a large roll of carpet to the lawn.
It took most of them to lift it.
A final photo with hubby before they went hunting @ someone else`s home

This Sunday @ church will be a video of how they all got on.

A look down the hall showing the new carpet laid out.
That parts complete now,so two bedrooms and hall done.
The lounge and last bedroom yet to be done.
The carpet is pure wool, cut pile and is so soft under foot.

I`ve also started on my ornie stitching.
This is slow as stitching for Christmas gifts that can`t be shown yet.
Happy Stitching,
Clare.

October Ornament

Hello my friends.
October is near its end.
This ornament is my one for October @
Christmas Ornie SAL 2015.
`HOPE`

I used threads from my stash,
Cottage Garden Thread : Tool Shed,
Sampler Thread : Ye Old Gold
and DMC : 310 to make my cord.

The pattern came from this years
`Just Cross Stitch Christmas Ornaments` magazine.
Page 63 `Needle Bling Design.
As you can see I`ve threads for projects I`d love to stitch.
Not sure if all will be done but the threads are waiting to be used!

Our grandchildren came to stay and placed
my  draught stopper to stop Max coming any further. :)
Happy Stitching,
Clare.

Further steps

Hello my friends,
My Christmas stitching is coming along
 but nothing to show yet!!

Miss Tillie`s paw against this tiny mouse.

Here you can see the difference in size.
As you may have guessed mouse is no more,
hiding did not help.

Step 6 with creme hexagons around step 7.

Step 8 is a row of a mixture leaving the dark out.
I am waiting on a little more fabric for two lots
of 24 hexagons. I hope that they will be here by the end of the week.
We are putting new carpet down in stages.
This week some of my fabric, magazines and BOMs,
plus embroidery needs are being packed away
from the end room, a clutter in there.
These boxes are not going in the shed!!
Our bedroom has carpet down,
so soft under foot.
I must get back to stitching though.
Happy Stitching,
Clare.
