Celebrate Spring

Good morning my friends.
Today we Celebrate Spring.
Come and visit with me for a little while.

This parcel came to me from Maria for `Lets Celebrate Swap`
with Mrs Martin.
Maria wrapped it in this lovely fabric.
I loved your little card as well Maria.
Thank you.

Inside was two beautiful cushion covers,
a few flower buttons (they look to be hiding)
and a packet of flower seeds.

I made with needle punch wadding my inner cushion fullers
stuffing them with  polyester fibre full.
They look lovely place on my couch.
I was wanting to show what I made for Maria but parcel seems to be still in transit.
I hope it arrives soon Maria as I do worry about it.

On the 1st of September I hang my Spring bell pull.
These are the words for each letter of Spring.

S IS FOR OUR SAVIOUR.
P IS FOR HIS PEACE.
R IS FOR RENEWAL,
                OUR HEARTS IN HIM REBORN.
I IS FOR HIS INFINITE LOVE
         SHOWN UPON THE CROSS.
N IS FOR THE NAILS,
          LEST WE FORGET HIS PAIN.
G IS FOR GOD`S GRACE
                            BESTOWED ON ALL BELIEVERS SOULS.

This pattern was in a`Stoney Creek` magazine 2006.
I enjoyed stitching this bell pull and have the other seasons
either kitted up or WIPs.
Well must keep moving so will say goodbye for now as need to get ready for Church.
Thank you for visiting with me and
I do enjoy your lovely comments.
Thank you my friends.
Happy Stitching,
Clare.

Friends Swap

Hello my friends.
Glad you could come for a visit.
Please join me for a little while.
I`ve always wanted to join a `Friends Swap` .
So thank you Khris.
I have enjoyed this swap plus lovely to be emailing another friend.

Here is my parcels finished and wrapped.
My swap partner is Annik.
Annik I hope you enjoy these gifts.

I have an hour before the post office opens so best get chooks and Max (dog)
their breakfast then off to post.

These where battery hens. They are helping Hubby weed the garden.
They love their freedom and so friendly.
From three hens we are getting three eggs a day.
I have been able to give the odd dozen eggs away.
As it`s cold I warm their mash.

This is `Courage` looking for worms.
She got her name as she was the first to venture out of the hen house.
Well must go.
Thank you for the lovely comments as that feel like you have been visiting with me.
Happy Stitching,
Clare.

Chateau Hexagon

Hello my friends.
We have a lovely day today though it started out quite foggy.
So glad you could come for a visit with me.
I have been stitching Lynette Andersons  `Chateau Hexagon` button club through
` The Country Yard`.

Patterns fabric threads of month 1&2.
There was a wait for threads and then I created my own mystery by filing pattern for month 1.
I forgot where I had put it!!!

Once found I really caught up.
Month 1 with the cute birdhouse button.
Love little miss kitty cat.

Month 2 with flower button and alphabet reminding me of a sampler.

Month 3 with glove button and I`ve spread a few of the hexagons that I have ready
for when needed.
I used three fabric for my wheel barrow.
Looking forward to the next one. :)
Time to go so thank you for your visit and lovely comments.
Till next time;
Happy Stitching,
Clare.

Time to post

Hello my friends.
Sit down and visit for awhile and thankyou for the lovely comments on my last post.
The days go by so quick that it is a few weeks since my last post.
I have been stitching and busy rearranging my home.
First this is the progress on LHN Mystery Sampler.
I have another house on the other side panel to stitch.
The way it is coming along I should be up to date by the time the last part comes.
It will be so nice to have another finish for myself this year.
I do enjoy stitching for others though.

We had our 5 year old grandson come and stay for a week of his first school holidays.
We spent one of the days  at Kairakau beach which is 30kms away from our home. A 30 minutes drive away. I was prepared for one change of clothes but could have taken more.
The water was too cold for swimming but alright for a quick paddle.
We also had a picnic.
The week went so quick and then it was time to take him home a few days before school started again.

Cucki sent me these lovely gifts in friendship. She has blessed me so much with them.
Since I have been on line we have emailed each other and become friends.
Thankyou Cucki for being one of my special online friends.

These two girls had to come home with me from Anni Downs workshop.
One is a kit the other will come together from fabrics and trims out of my cupboards.
My bag is still WIP but coming along nicely.

I thought I would show the full inside if my Merry Cox needle case.
I didn`t get to show it in the last post.

Well thankyou for your visit and will catch up again soon.
I must start on our dinner.
Happy Stitching,
Clare.

A little time for you today

Hello my friends I have a little time to visit today.
We are having our grandson coming to stay for a few days of his
school holidays.
Looking forward to this.
Our bedroom furniture has been changed around and some put in other places in our home so a single air bed can fit in!
Now to a stitching project or two.

This pattern came from `Just Cross Stitch` magazine Feb 2008.
I was sorting through my magazines and found I had kitted this up,
with the beads and bee charms already to go.
I decided to stitch it before time moved on.
Rather than frame this I made it up into a mini cushion.
So happy with the finish and the stitching didn`t take too long.

 I stitched this in 2000 from a `Spirit of Cross Stitch` video.
Merry Cox demonstrated her pattern of her Stitcher`s Case.
I used DMC threads from my cupboard.
The video needed to be put on a tape that I could use here.
I didn`t see the paper chart till YD showed me.
Quite funny really.
This is my 1st  stitching birthday month project.
Since then I try to stitch one every year in my birthday month.
I try to kit it up well before.

The main stitching on the front.
Inside is room for pin keep in the centre,
scissor holder at one end and the other a needle book.

Well it was nice to sit and let you know what has been done.
Also some secret stitching is on the go so will be back after this busy week coming up.
Happy Stitching,
Clare.

Tis the Season Bag

Hello again.
A quick visit with you today.
I have a little time to show my `Tis the Season bag` for Chookyblues SAL.

I used fabrics from my Christmas collection.
Then I used a different stitchery from the book.
I quilted hearts in the plain parts.
This I will use as my purse in December.

The  back of my bag. I quilted hexagons on this to go with hexagon panel in the front.
This fabric is from years ago but I love the different fabric and designs in it.
I`ve sorted most my fabrics for next months for next months SAL
`Some Kind of Wonderful Sewing Case`.
I`ve only to decide on my lining.
Looking forward to working on this.

As you know I love a mystery so when I saw LHN
had `Songs of the Season` I had to find a way to do this.
The Embroiderer was where I purchased mine.
This came late last month.
I couldn`t wait to start.

I completed part one by the 1st of July and now I`m waiting for part two this month.
Thankyou Diane for such a lovely stitchery.
I so enjoy LHN  patterns.
Well best get on as have a birthday cake for my Mums birthday to ice then go to see her.
Today`s her birthday.
Thankyou for your lovely comments, it`s like we have been visiting with each other.
Happy Stitching,
Clare.

Stitching time for me!

Hello my friends.
Thankyou for visiting, it has been a few weeks.
I`ve been unwell but some stitching has been worked on.
For Mrs Martin`s `Let Celebrate Swap` I stitched a Red Brolly pattern
two ladies at a tea shop for `The biggest morning tea`.

It was going to be my `Mug Rug` but the though of it hidden under a cup
I extended it using a few parts of three fat 1/4s

I added two of my favorite recipes and hunted through the shops
for a light weight mug to match.

I made Bronwyns  mug bag to hold it all for a set.
Maria my swap partner goes to group meetings so thought she may use this.

This is it opened.
Once complete I sent it to Maria (maria-lifeontheblock.blogspot)

My lovely gifting from Maria to me. A mug rug ,yummy drinks,
a recipe book and a fat 1/4 for me to use.
Thankyou Maria.
I have `Spring` swap on the go now!

Last weeks mail brought my first part of `Tille`s Lane`
from Grand Mothers Garden Patchwork and Quilting.
Such lovely fabrics to make Anni Downs quilt.

Today I started but the lighting shows it this colour
not the lovely cream that the background is!
Well times getting on so thanks for the visit.
Till next time,
Happy Stitching,
Clare.
