Thimbleberries Time

Last Wednesday of the month is Thimbleberries Time.
I looked in the cupboard for my `Lakeland Pines` 2008 Thimbleberries Club quilt and thought this was the way to carry on with it.

First one of four to make the block.

Another block finished. Progress. Yay. I`ve the thimbleberries backing as well for this quilt.
I was wanting to start last month but was busy helping two of my Uncles get their groceries and the day went so fast. No sewing at all that day!
Have marked on the calender for next month for this so can keep going.
Thankyou for your lovely comments and nice you came to visit.
Happy Stitching,
Clare.

Quilt tops

Hello everyone. I hope you enjoy your visit with me today.
Since last time I`ve completed two quilt tops. The first is my `Trade my Talent` charity quilt for a fund raiser to help our youth group at our Church.

I used Stella Whittinghams pattern `Take Time out to Smell the Flowers` from Australian Country Threads Vol 8 #11. Instead of a 1" strip for the first border I folded it to make it a`peek a boo` border and I`ll use the same fabric for my binding

The second is my Some Kind of Wonderful quilt top. I`ve really enjoyed making this quilt. Part of the enjoyment has been part of the SKofW SAL. I changed a few blocks and have used fabrics from my stash to make it. It`s nice to see  them bring this quilt together and I can enjoy the fabric rather than in the draw. Now I`ve only to find my backing fabric as have wadding for both quilts in the cupboard. When I`ve finished quilting I`ll show them.
I`m off back to my sewing machine to finish a few gifts that have been put on the back burner.
Thanks for the lovely comments on my last post and hope you will visit again soon.
Happy Stitching,
Clare.

Friendship

Good morning everyone.
I recently gave these to a friend of mine for her birthday. A stitching holding pocket and the friendship pincushion which was a free pattern from years ago. The photo was taken at night just before wrapping it up for her.
Kerry has no blog and with family happenings,a wedding and later an accident we haven`t had our usual stitching get togethers. Pray that this will begin again in the near future.

I`ve had a few busy days in the last couple of weeks helping two of my Uncles with transport to get their groceries.
Then I`ve also been working on a charity quilt so must go and try to complete this. I have only two bocks to go to finish my `Some Kind of Wonderful` quilt top. Love the way this quilt is coming together. Hope to show photos in next post.
Thankyou for visiting,please come again.
Happy Stiching,
Clare.

Adding to stash

Today I remembered I hadn`t shown what I brought at `Heirlooms`(Barberry Row&With Love) when Sherelyn had her display of stitching. There was juice, coffee and tea with nibbles as well that evening. A lovely time for my friends and myself. There was a door prize and amazing for me I won it. This surprise will come to me on the 20th of August. Looking forward to that.

With My Needle `Blue House Needle Primer` which encluded a wooden hornbook and mounting board. The cotton reel goes with `An Icelandic Christmas Sewing Set`. I didn`t get the hornbook for this, maybe at a later date. The wooden thread holder has `Stitchery soothed the soul and inspires the mind` written on it. `My Tuscany:a Shaker box in Italy` with accessories is the third one.
I had another spend for a few things from Needle Arts but as thay are for stitchery gifts that will be shown at a later date.
This post will be short as keep getting message, hope there`s no hick-ups.
Please come again as I love you visiting.
Happy Stitching,
Clare.
