Last Wednesday of the month

Welcome.
So glad that you could come back for a visit. Also a welcome to my new followers and my other faithful friends.
Yesterday was `Thimbleberries day` so before I needed to be out of the house I made some flower blocks. I had a major headache last night so blogging didn`t happen. I was in bed real early and then this morning able to get back to sleep after seeing my hubby off to work at 4.30am. A first since he started this shift. Two more early starts to go.

Sandie of `Crazy`boutquilts` is hosting this.

My corner flower blocks. Looking forward to placing these on the border.

`Forest Bloom` from 2008 `Thimbleberries Quilt Club Lodge`.

`Trade my talents` quilt top complete.

Showing my finished `Take time out to smell the flowers` quilt

The label on the back showing backing fabric as well. The binding is the same as the peek a boo first border in the quilt. I gave this to the new owner when at Church two Sundays ago. Celilia (no blog) said that she has it over her prayer chair and uses it on cold mornings.
Well hope you enjoyed your visit. Please come again as I enjoy sharing part of my life with you and again thankyou for caring.
Happy Stitching,
Clare.

a faithful pet, no more

Hello my friends. I`m sad today as our faithful pet sheep `Sheepo` is no more. Hubby buried her between a couple of apple trees with their blossom forming.

She always had a lovely fleece for us to spin up. Sheepo must`ve been round 14 years old. So when I think back for a sheep her life on the whole has been great. Her front legs where failing her,so time to say `Goodbye`.
So till next post, thankyou for visiting and caring.
Happy Stitching,
Clare.

Coming along nicely

Hello my dear friends. Hope that as the month is moving along that you are finding like me that your stitching is `coming along nicely`.

As you can see my Mystery blocks are coming together. This is from `The Counrty Yard`. I really enjoying peicing and stitching these blocks. I have also started quilting last years mystery quilt.

This is the first time for me to join SSCS. So looking forward to this. Thankyou Chookblue.
Next I couldn`t let this BOM not come to me .
At least it will be ready to start when I`ve time to do so!!

Love these lovely `Teddies at Play`
Look at the beautiful threads to stitch with. I am getting this from Grandmothers Garden.

Well time to get the washing off the line. Then back to my quilting and this evening my stitching projects when watching TV after dinner.
Thankyou for visiting and your lovely comments.
Happy Stitching,
Clare.

A spring visitor

Hello my friends.
We had a spring visitor come today. Isn`t he beautiful!

A Tui in our Kowhai tree that`s outside our bedroom window. He was busy having a meal of necter.

A start to my machine quilting of `Take Time to Smell the Flowers` charity quilt. I stitched in the ditch round the flower stitcheries. Tried free motion quilting, then had to reverse stitch that part. Thinking what to do next! Hope to complete it this week as want to quilt my SKofW quilt too.

I`ve been getting `Homespun` magazine since the first one came out. Over the years have made some of the projects and ear marked a few for the to do list. Recently I  have started their SAL 2012 `Long Time Ago In Bethlehem` by Natashia Curtin designed. The first pattern is in `Homespun #110 (Vol 13.7) is called `Hello` with the animals and hens looking on. A little chick is tapping its mother as she looks like she`s sleeping. The other blocks are on www.completecraft.com.au  They started 18th July 2012,then every fortnight till 5th December2012. the other blocks that I have downloaded but not traced or even stitched yet are `Kitchen Sink Camel`,`Megaphone Angel` and `The Singing Praise Angel Band`. The fabric for my stitcheries is `Paint Box 2004/2005` by Thimbleberries. Looking forward to this Wednesday to see what one comes next.
Hope you are all having a lovely day like we have here.
Thankyou for visiting,come again soon.
Happy Stitching,
Clare.

It`s Spring

Hello my friends. So happy you could come for a visit. Spring is here for us. The birds are making their nests ready for their little ones. The blossoms are on the trees but we are not seeing many bees this year. Hubbys seen a few bees out the back and when I go to the letter box I see one lone bumble bee.

This is apple blossom. Every year I`m tempted to cut a piece to have inside but Hubby says no as it could be part of the crop that comes later.

How far my stitchings come on our grand-daughters `church doll sampler roll`. As I didn`t find the time to stitch a birth sampler, I decided to make this needle roll for her. She`s two at the moment so will put it on display till I feel she old enough to cherish it. It is one of Beth Twist designs of Heartstring Samplery.
Well have a busy day today so thankyou for the lovely comments I`ve been getting about my blog and welcome to my new followers. I cherish each one form the first to the latest.
Happy Stitching,
Clare
