Catch up part two

Hello my friends,
time for another visit with me.
We were having an over flow problem when it rained with water running off the roof
so since we are now on part mains supply Hubby put up a smaller tank  and used the large one to take over flow. This water is used for the garden.
He worked on this while on a holiday break.

Also he went fishing and caught these two.
It was fish for tea.

This years `Mystery` from `The Country Yard`.
is using `Cottage Garden Thread` 1001 Red Carnation.
It is stitching up lovely.

Month one. I seem to be keeping up.

Month two

Month three.
Month four came the other day but forgot to take a photo!

Our grandson turned five this week and started school.
This lovely cake was made by my Son-in laws sister.
What an amazing creation. Yummy cake .

He was Spiderman for the day. Time to unwrap some gifts.

LHN  Little Sheep Virtue, these three are on display.
I`ve finished stitching `Courage` but still  sorting what felt to finish that one.
I`ve started to stitch `Faith` so may finish those two together.
I`m enjoying stitching these.
Well I need to get going so will catch up again soon.
Thankyou for the visit.
Happy Stitching,
Clare.

The front .
A few close ups of my work.

The centre of the outside with button to close after folding.

The back panel that gets folded in.

The centre of this lovely `Stitchers Companion`

A close up of the stitched little verse.
This was the only part stitched one over one.
I used Cottage Garden thread # 604 Kingfisher with DMC threads to compliment this.
Well best get on till my next catch up post.
Thankyou for your visit and I enjoy the lovely comments that you give me.

Where has the month gone

Hello my friends.
So pleased you could come visit with me.
Today Hubby and I have are celebrating 33 years of marriage.
Not sure what we will do later as he started work at 4.30 am.
We were up at 3.30 am!

For my trip to `Anni Downs ` workshop down south last month I made this project bag
from her `The Simple Life` book.

Showing the pocket side open and closed

The needle page side and a little of the draw string bag

I haven`t been blogging this month as my modem has been only showing
3 bars not 4 which I need for that. GRRR.
Also I had a shadow on my left lung but with antibiotics it has gone.
Found breathing quite hard at times so was slow with everything.
Thankyou for visiting. Please come again
Happy Stitching,
Clare.

Home again

Hello my friends please come for a visit with me.
This month has nearly gone.
I`ve been working on some secret stitching which is nearly there.
I`ve completed my SAL for April a TTS wall hanging and blogged on that.
Also I had a flight to Christchurch for a weeks visit with my sister
who lives an hours drive from there.
Last time I was down there it was so different as we came home only a few days
before the first Earthquake.
What a change and so eerie in places with no traffic and damaged buildings
or they have been removed.

This was as near as I could get to the Cathedral
from the street we were on.

A building in progress of being repaired.

A container cafe and below one of the shops.

A mini car stuck to the side of a building.

Where the buildings  have been demolished there are
designs painted so it doesn`t look so bare.

This one of `Noah`s Ark`

Over the weekend my sister and I went to
Anni Downs two day workshop.
Anni and I together. Thankyou  Anni and Racheal of
`Annies Country Quit Store`. I really enjoyed my self
and learnt a few new techniques  which will not only help with
projects Anni gave me but also some others I`ve
been working on.

I`m showing you only part of one of the projects Anni
had for us to do.

Here is part of my progress.
Paper pieced hexagons and wool applique.

This post has become quite long so will show some
of my shopping and further progress in another post.
Thankyou for visiting and hope you will join me again next time.
Happy stitching,
Clare.

Easter Friday

Easter begins for us today.
Good Friday.
A cross is carried to remember the walk Jesus did for us,for he loved us so much.
He died for our sins.
Romans 5:8.
On Sunday we Celebrate that
`Jesus is Alive`.
Luke 24:6-7.
So for `Easter Celebration`

This is my gift from my swap partner Maria for Easter.

These cute bunnie faces,chocs,threads,
an Easter egg place mat wrapped in the lovey fabric.
The mat will be used for display plus used when eating an egg in a egg cup.
Thankyou Maria. I can see I will be stitching and
patch working with my fabrics.

This is what I gave Maria.
The basket was a freebie from Bronwyn Hayes of
Red Brolly.
The rabbit a freebie by Sue Allemand.

A closeup of little Peter Rabbit.
I used a wet tea bag to give him some colour.

There was no tail on Sue`s rabbit so using 6 strands of
DMC thread and colonial knots I stitched him one.
Sorry photo a bit fuzzy.
He`s so cute.
I won`t put the pattern away till I`ve made one for me.

As I thought my parcel had gone astray I brought another packet of
chocolate carrots. I had not opened Maria`s because of Customs.
Knowing Maria has her gift I opened pack and found 6 carrots.
My daughter found the carrots and we thought with words on
Peters tum we had to add these.
I hope you all have a blessed an safe Easter.
Happy Stitching,
Clare.

Time to post again

Hello my friends.
So glad that you have time for a visit.
It has been awhile so it`s time to post again.
I`ve had some finishing to do.
I finished my Birthday stitching by the end of Feb
and a few days later completed the needle roll.
So pleased :)
But since then have been rather busy.
Last week my Mum had a mini stroke.
She`s home now and on the mend. The first time for her at 80yrs to be on meds.
To give one of my sisters a break and be of help I stayed with Mum.
We did have a visit to A&E.
So glad I had our car!
Now some `Show and Tell`.
My BBD needle roll finished.

I used this `Thimbleberries` fabric sent to me in a swap last year.
I may make something else to make a set.

The stitching pockets inside.

Felt needle pages attached at the end.
Now what project to use this for!

This was part of my gift from my friend Katrina.
http://kiwistitching.blogspot.co.nz/
Love it. Thankyou again Katrina.
So many lovely birthday gifts last month but so nice for gifts to come after.

An Easter parcel sent to my swap partner Maria
http://maria-lifeontheblock.blogspot.co.nz/
for `Let`s Celebrate Swap 2013`
Over Easter once this gift has arrived I will post on what`s inside.
Well time for me to get back to my stitching as
we have even days for hand held watering every second day with having a drought.
We are suppose to get some rain Sunday.
The nights are cooler with dew in the mornings.
Happy Stitching,
Clare.
