SSCS

Merry Christmas my friends.
Mum has been having seizure`s lately
but the times we have seen her she has been
able to visit with us.
Mum was to have lunch with one of my sister`s families.
I have not heard anything so she must be having a good day today.

My SSCS  gift was a lovely table runner
( found this has a hanger so can be used for a wall hanger)
 of tree`s with snowman buttons,
3 lovely charms and a little wooden box of 36
wooden figures.

Martine has stitched beautiful leaves round the first border .
Thank you Chookyblue for organising this lovely
Christmas swap again this year.
Also to Martine from Belgium.
I pray everyone enjoys this Christmas holiday.
Happy Stitching,
Clare.

Lovely parcels. I have been truly spoilt,by my partner
Martine.
Thank you so much.
A thank you to Chookyblue for setting this swap up for us.

With this snowman ornament.
So adorable.

With my Mum so unwell but quite happy to see us,
I am behind on quite a few things at the moment.
So these gifts made a smile come my way.
Happy Stitching,
Clare.

Stitching last Friday night.

Hello my friends.
It has been a while since my last post.
Hubby and I had five weeks visiting with friends in USA.
Plus a weekend in Canada.
I will show over the next few weeks or so where we went.
My Mum wasn`t well a few days after coming home so
stayed with her as carer for 9 days while other family had work
and their family needs.
Soon after that we had carers coming morning and late afternoon,
with meals on wheels for lunch.
Short story she ended up in hospital and had CT scan showing
she has cancer in her brain.
I`m finding this hard to write this,as this Christmas is her last.
Now before I get choked up, my stitching from
last Friday night.

White work row, hearts and letters N and O.

The other side P and Q with owl.
Progress on `Random Thought`s `
bellpull a SAL with Elizabeth of Paisley Post.

I was so pleased my teapot house travelled home safely.
It was packed a box and put in my cabin luggage.
We did so enjoy our trip.
I have a few things to sort but hope to get those
organised soon plus joined Chookyblues SSCS again this year.
That`s nearly ready to post.
Happy Stitching,
Clare.

Finished the butterfly and bee`s with white work.
Only little button to attach in centre.

The letter `L` complete.
Row of white work  for next Friday.

Stitching Circle with The Silver Needle.
`Threads That Bind`
sewing pocket.

The back has this lovely cotton reel in centre.

I lined mine with this lovely pink and red fabric.
Then using cotton reel part of pattern and using
WDW brick which I used in design instead of
Ruby Slippers.

Progressing on `Summer School ` part 1.
Well must get on to other projects that I need to have done.
I am still working on what I have decided for my draw so have
not forgotten.
Happy Stitching,
Clare.

Using Christmas Thread

Hello my friends.
I have been unwell with flu the few weeks.
No stitching at all till late yesterday:(
I decided after seeing Fiona`s stocking block
to use a Christmas thread for wording.
One of my sister`s gave me
Cottage Garden Thread: Mistletoe
as part of my gift last Christmas.
I thought it suited July block,
so I am using it in this quilt.
I will re stitch block one`s words to match.

I am pleased with this block.
The stand and topping have gold thread, which makes it sparkle.
I used DMC 3052 for tie and back stitching of holly.
The blanket stitch on holly is DMC 936.
The pudding DMC 3047.
Heart DMC 816.
Berry DMC 221.
I have cut out applique pieces for next block.
I only need to work out what size my background piece is to be.
Happy Stitching,
Clare.

Stitching

Hello my friends.
I was to show stitching on
Random Thought`s
yesterday but have been unwell.
I noticed that I have reached 100 followers.
Time for me to have a draw for something I have made.
I will see how time goes and maybe bless three of them. :)

In this section my initials are to be placed.
I have yet to decide how to place them.
I  graph and then stitch at a later date.
The corners are Woven Leaf Stitch.
I started on the top right hand corner
following chart. Turned my work for the
corners to place needle in the place.
A cute ladybird.
Happy Stitching,
Clare.

Summer School House

Hello my friends.
Summer School House slowly growing.
I have been stitching gaps across the row eg:
3 stitches then 3 up on next row till end
then full in on return.
Gives a lovely look to the house.
If 3 doesen`t work either 4 or 2 stitches depending where they are.
Quite pleased with effect.
Also makes stitching interesting to do. :)

I will say I have been side tracked by adding extra to
a gift for a friend :)
Happy Stitching,
Clare.

Summer School :Lesson one

Hello my friends.
Yesterday`s post brought my
`Summer School`
(we are in our Winter :) )
lesson #1
design of Brenda Gervais.

The pattern, threads, fabric, needle minder and finishing ric rac.

Threads ready to start on 28ct mushroom.

Little helper while stitching one over one.
Lamp needed for this one.
My shelf is getting cluttered again!
Time to tidy up I think, :)

I started at the bottom right with the two threads over three linen
for the grass. This gave me a line to work  from.
Looks like since Friday it has been stitching. :)
Over the weekend I stitched a little more on BBD design.

I have a little reverse stitching on the side to do,
will sort this soon.
Happy Stitching,
Clare.

Friday Night Stitching

Hello my friends.
Last night I worked on
`Random Thoughts`.

Now all my alphabet are connecting.
A & B one over one stitching areas complete
as well.
I`m sure that I`m using called for fabric but
the crane bird doesn`t show up that well.
Could be the lighting for photo.
I have put this away till Friday.
Happy Stitching,
Clare.

Hello my friends.
Yesterday our youngest daughter brought home
our new addition to the family.
Tillie is still taking this on board!!

She`s usually laid back like this. :)

Still taking in the new member.

His name is:
Peanuts.

Elizabeth from Paisley`s Post and I  have decided to do this
Drawn Thread pattern `Random Thought`s` as a SAL
together.  Once I found mine. :)
Hope I won`t be too far behind.
Elizabeth has started her`s as well.

This is how much I had already stitched.
I think I will stitch this as my Friday night stitching till
we go away and return to it once home again.
Happy Stitching,
Clare.

Last block

Hello my friends.
We have been busy looking after our youngest grandson.
He is now 9 months old.
When we took him home the other day I picked up
the last block of my $25 quilt.

I also paid for finishing layout.
Next week when we take him home,
I will go to sort my choice of fabric`s from the
fabric put aside for quilt.

Progress on `Lady`s Sampler`.
Well must get on as we have Ezekiel again this weekend

Missed a day

Hello my friends,
I did sew yesterday but no time to post for day two of
Chookyblues birthday weekend. :)
Saturday night before midnight I stared
`Lady Sampler`.
That was after our evening out.
Plus I stocked the fire up,nice and cosy.

The Volunteer `s Fire Brigade 2017 Honours.
They were a few year`s behind so hubby received
Three silver bars to attach to his medal,
plus a framed certificate for Level 2
Urban fire and recuse operations.

Today this is my progress on
`Lady`s Sampler`.
I am using suggested threads and linen 40 count.

Part of Saturday and most of Sunday during the day
I cut out and put together
2016  $25 quilt borders one and two.
The third and last border I am working out joining the pattern.
Once that`s done I will attach ready for quilting. :)

Once wash is out as today is a lovely sunny winters day.
There was a frost this morning.
Happy Stitching,
Clare.

Joining in with Birthday fun

Hello my friends.
This weekend I am joining in with Chookyblues
5 years Birthday Celebration`s .
A weekend of stitching time. :)

No champagne for me as will be using my cutter .
That`s alright as I usually only drink juice or fizzy. :)
I made a zipper bag with
 Thread Gathering stitching project .
A useful finish, this has been sitting awhile to be completed.
Out of the UFO pile. :)
Wonder what I will store in this one.

Well back to more stitching, cutting or sewing
 and another post tomorrow.
We have a Fire Brigade 2017 Honour`s Celebration
evening tonight so will sew till need to get ready for that. :)
Happy Stitching,
Clare.

My Stitching and

Hello my friends.
Nearing the end of the month so I will show a few more projects
I have been working on.
I started my circle of friends
`Threads that Bind`
a The Drawn Thread design.
I could not help myself starting this one. :)
I did make a mistake with Ruby Slipper thread.
This meant I didn`t have enough so while looking for another of the same
I saw WDW Brick.
I am using that in this section and will go back
and use in the other space`s as well.

I also enjoy stitching BBD design patterns
hence started this lovely design,
It`s Spring Fever .

I like kitting up my projects but found if put aside for any reason I
sometimes miss placed the threads
and when found wondered what design they where meant for .
So now I`ve started putting them on rings with
these labels.

I am also stitching a few fobs and things for friends
so once they have received their gifts I will show those too.
In a few months time we are going on an overseas trip
to see my Pen Pal of 50 years who lives in USA .
So when I saw this daylight lamp I had to get one.
Very compact.

It takes batteries and extends up

A safety cap over the magnifier .

Plus it`s so light. :)
Well must sign off .
Happy Stitching,
Clare.

For me

Hello my friends.
Barbara of
http://tostitchornottostitch.blogspot.co.
had a give away of this pattern and I won, :)
Essamplaire Petite
Collection 1.
By Brenda Gervais.

I have ordered the called for threads and will look at
my linen stash for kitting up.
My thoughts are to stitch the lady first.

Last block of Country Blues.
I have sewn the centre pieces of this mystery but
waiting on a little more fabric to finish border blocks.

Once this has been done I will show layout.
May even have this one quilted.
This coming weekend we have Ezekiel coming to stay.
On the 28th he will be 9 months old.
He loves to roll.
Happy Stitching,
Clare.
